Still point by Katie Kacvinsky
Still Point is the third and final book in the Awaken trilogy and this book was heartbreakingly bitter sweet.
If you have not picked up Awaken, Middle Ground and Still Point I urge you to do so now, this series is absolutely fantastic. In my opinion this has been one of the best and most realistic dystopian series that has been released in recent years.
Still Point was a satisfying ending to a trilogy that has had me hooked since book one, in Still Point Justin and Maddie embark on the final battle to bring down digital school once and for all.
The story picked up right where Middle Ground finished and flowed perfectly, it was full of action, suspense and had plot twists that I didn’t see coming. As with the first two books in the series the book was extremely well written and the plot pacing was fantastic, my only issue with this book was how fast the book came to an end, it did feel a little rushed but other than that the story telling was fantastic.
I have to address the elephant in the room, Justin and Maddie, I am absolutely heartbroken. I really wanted things to work out for them, they have been one of my favourite pairings from recent years and I was gutted when I realised where their storyline was heading. I didn’t feel the connection between Maddie and Jax and I didnt connect to Jax the same way I did with Justin. If I could change one thing about this book it would be the ending of the relationship between Maddie and Justin.
“Life is supposed to be a risk. It’s written everywhere around us. We are meant to take chances. We are meant to explode and shatter and spiral. Even if we break, we’ll come back to a still point.”
