Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
Unfortunately Siege and Storm did not live up to book one in the Grisha Series Shadow and bone.
I loved Shadow and Bone it had me hooked from page one and I could not put it down, however Siege and Storm put me into a reading slump and I found it extremely difficult to finish this book.
I think my main issue with this book was the story line, I found the majority of the book dragged and when something exciting did finally happen we would only get a few pages of action and then out of nowhere the story would slow right back down and begin to drag all over again.
That being said there are a number of saving graces of this book, one of which was the introduction of the new characters such as Nikolai who gave this book the comedy and attitude it needed. He had me cracking up in this book with lines such as “Tried my hand at poetry for a while. The results were…unfortunate.” and he actually became my favourite character.
Another saving grace for this book was once again Leigh Bardugo does a fantastic job of building theworld and creating a vivid picture in your mind.
I will definitely be continuing with this series and I am holding hope that book three will make up for the disapointment I am feeling after finishing Siege and Storm.
