Partials by Dan Wells
I really wanted to love this book, I really did but I just couldn’t.
Partials is set in the year 2076, it has been 11 years since an airborne virus has broken out and now the average newborn baby now lives only 56 hours. Kira Walker is a young medic intern working at the hospital. She believes that the key to human survival lies within studying the Partials.
I really wanted to love this book, I really did but I just couldn’t. I found this book seriously lacked suspense, action and tension throughout the entire book. The plot was very slow and didn’t seem to pick up even during the “action” parts of the book, instead this book is full of descriptions and boring conversations.
There were two saving graces for me in this book one was the main character Kira, she was spunky, loyal and had the kind of attitude I love in a great female protagonist.
The second was the actual premise of the book it is very unique and unlike anything I have ready before.
I will be continuing with the series because I genuinely want to see the outcome however I don’t think I will be picking up book two just not yet.
As with all books I highly recommend that you try this book for yourself, my opinion on this book may be completely different to yours.
