The Ocean at the end of the lane by Neil Gaiman
The Ocean at the end of the lane is a story following an unnamed middle aged man as he reminisces about a specific time in his childhood.
The Ocean at the end of the lane takes you back to your childhood and has you questioning almost everything, the entire story you are questioning if what the main character is remembering is factual or just his childhood imagination running away with his memories.
You find yourself questioning how real the magic and monsters of your childhood where? Are children really that ignorant to reality that they believe in the impossible or are we as adults ignorant to what is really around us?
The concept behind this story is truly fascinating and once you pick up the book you can’t put it down.
However I couldn’t bring myself to love this book or its characters and unfortunately for this reason alone I couldn’t give this book a 4 star rating.
