Need by Joelle Charbonneau
** I received an e-book copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
I have to admit, Need is not something I would normally gravitate towards however I have recently read the Testing Trilogy by Joelle Charbonneau and while that series didn’t blow me away I did want to see how Joelle’s writing style would translate over into a different genre of books.
Need follows a group of teenagers from Nottawa High School who are sucked into a dangerous game involving a new social media site called Need, Need promises to grant their every Need regardless of the consequences and the teens stay completely anonymous.
However what starts out as a few harmless pranks quickly turns into horrendous crimes and even Murder.
The main issue I had with Need was how many POV’s the story had and while I appreciate that the story needed that many POV’s to tell the story, I found that the majority of the characters weren’t unique or individual enough to have their own voices and because of this I was struggling to tell them apart leaving me very confused.
The story as a whole does leave you on the edge of your seat and questioning everything and I found myself just NEEDing to know what would happen next. The concept behind the story was unique and the story was fun, fast paced, action packed and full of twist and turns.
Overall Need is a fast paced, quick read that leaves you on the edge of your seat while questioning just how far you would go for something you feel you “Need”.
Need by Joelle Charbonneau is released on the 3rd November 2015 in e book form in the UK & USA – I do recommend you guys give this one a go if you are looking for a fun, quick read.
