Just One Day (Just One Day, #1)

Just one Day – Gayle Forman

Overall this was an enjoyable book about one girl’s self-discovery after heartbreak. Just one day is a very well written story, with very likeable and relatable characters.

I have a serious problem with character’s who spend 100 plus pages feeling sorry for themselves and unfortunately the main character Allyson aka LULU did this. If this story had less self-pity I would have given it a solid four stars.

The relationships in this book are very well constructed and realistic, the relationship between Allyson and her Mum was so well done that I found myself becoming as frustrated with her mum as Allyson was. The LuLu and Willem relationship was exactly was it was meant to be, a young, worldwind, holiday (Vacation) romance.

The ending in this book is a massive cliff hanger and leaves you wanting to know more.

If you are a fan of contemporary romance this is the book for you.
