City of Heavenly Fire Review
This was hands down the best book of the series, the first five books in the mortal instruments series all teetered between 3 and 4 stars in my opinion, I enjoyed them but there wasn’t much that made me want to scream from the rooftops about them.
However the way everything slotted into place in this book was impeccable! Cassandra Clare did an amazing job of bringing the world of TMI and TID together. It was honestly flawless.
My stand out characters in this book as with almost all the TMI books where Magnus Bane and Isabelle, I found myself becoming so attached to them, that I shed tears when I thought they would meet their makers in this book.
However even after 6 books I still found myself unable to connect to Clary the same way I had with almost all the other characters, she was OK but to me she didn’t develop enough until towards the end of COHF and I found it to be extremely frustrating.
As with all of Cassandra Clare’s books the humour in this book was hilarious and fantastically done, she can make you laugh and cry within seconds.
Everything came together perfectly and the story arch came full circle, if you are a fan of fantasy and like a rollercoaster ride this series is defiantly for you.
Fantastic book, Fantastic end to the series.
